Any guesses (or research you have seen) to the COSTS of SWITCHING your major in college?

We here how expensive college is today.

What we don't here is what is the cost of picking the wrong field?

And doing that 2 or 3x over by switching.

OR we see students not working in HS and just focusing in on grades to get that scholarship to save $$$.

But then 4 years later getting a degree and saying, 'I don't like this, I'm out.'

We know what tuition and credits cost on average per field...

BUT, how do you figure out the cost of switching your major?

Thoughts? Info? Anyone who can answer this? My one GAP areaI need help with for the book...

3 Most Common Things that cause students to FAIL at building their young next life chapters (not careers) headed toward the real world at 17+ years old

1. Lack Awareness - They waste thousands of dollars.

They just are not made aware of what it takes today to get setup and prepared for the real world outside of choosing a field which should come later on after they are setup.

2. Overwhelmed and Confused - So, they do nothing.

Today's generation is the most stressed and overwhelmed generation in history. Coupled with being confused about what they want in life doesn't make it easier for them today. Not worrying about your whole life and doing a few initial key things first is what many students are seeing success and de-stressing from.

3. They Do Not Validate Initial Choices - With Substance.

When students choose a major it's based on curriculum and typically 1 channel of experience they have engaged with that causes them to say, I will major in XYZ because that is what interests me and my friend or family or local volunteering experience has led me there. That is costing students hundreds of thousands of dollars in mistakes because they are not correlating the actual jobs, roles, and work environment constraints as well as innovation into their equations. It is also causing them an undo amount of stress and the wrong positioning toward the real world. Parents have a hard time helping. The reality is, they don't meet with multiple people ahead of time to validate their choice or even no how to outreach to them and ask (if someone doesn't know someone then it stops there) vs. reaching out and knowing how to with purpose.

That is Student Success U, what college doesn't teach.

We just tackled a really tough topic within our Life Development Series Podcast episode today on Addiction... Being an Aware Student Leader today and understanding it so if or when it hits home you know what to do... It was really direct and real world with a ton of medical disclaimers and one very AMAZING GUEST: Philip Michael O'Hara who is a Jersey Boy doing great things across the US.
