As temperatures drop, we want to remind residents that city ordinances require animals to be provided with adequate care during cold weather.

By law, pet owners must ensure:
• Adequate shelter that protects animals from wind, rain, snow, and freezing temperatures
• Access to unfrozen water at all times
• Proper care to prevent unnecessary suffering due to extreme weather
• No prolonged exposure to dangerous cold conditions

Failure to provide proper shelter and care during extreme weather will result in enforcement action.

Cold Weather Cat Reminder:
Outdoor cats often seek warmth under vehicle hoods or near tires. Before starting your car, tap the hood and check around the wheels to help prevent injury.

If you’re concerned about an animal that may not have proper shelter or care during cold weather, please contact Raymore Police Dispatch immediately at 816-331-0530 so we can respond and ensure the animal’s safety.

This dog was found today on S Huntsman Blvd and Stasi Ave. It is a female, no collar, and no chip.
