SB Nemo Farm
After fall calving ended (luckily) on Oct 20th, took a drive south on I-77 through the mountains on the 23rd to enjoy the Fall colors, attend in SC the Yon Family Farms female sale on the 24th, spend a few days at Disney, and then see the Fall foliage again on the trip back.
Beginning of Summer ‘24 this 4-acre grazing paddock was converted into a sacrifice lot, allowing all other grazing paddocks to rest/remain-idle during the drought. In December, the cattle were removed from it and fed under roof for Winter, and it has not been disturbed since. This grazing season ‘25, it will continue to go untouched, and therefore allowed to regenerate for nearly six months with no pressure. After what it looked like and what it went through, so far, with doing nothing to it, it’s doing quite well regenerating on its own from just seed in the hay (shown here). And the 80-acres of grazing ground that it protected is looking absolutely amazing!
