Fleas and ticks may seem similar, but they behave very differently and both can pose serious risks to your family and pets. Fleas are tiny jumpers that live in carpets, pet beds, and shady outdoor areas. They bite ankles and pets, causing intense itching, allergic reactions, and even tapeworm infections. Ticks, on the other hand, don’t jump, they crawl onto hosts from tall grass or brush, often attaching in hidden areas like the scalp, behind ears, or under arms. They’re known carriers of serious illnesses like Lyme disease and anaplasmosis.

Whether you're dealing with fleas in your home or ticks in your yard, Heritage Pest Control has safe, effective treatments that target every life stage. Protect your loved ones and pets. Schedule an inspection today!

🕷️ It's Tick Awareness Week (May 4–10)! 🕷️

Ticks are more than just a nuisance, they pose serious health risks to both humans and pets. Diseases like Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and alpha-gal syndrome (a red meat allergy) can be transmitted through tick bites.

Alarmingly, a recent NPMA survey revealed that 51% of Americans are unaware that ticks can spread diseases to humans, and 77% don't know the proper method to remove an attached tick.

Protect yourself and your loved ones with these tips:

* Use insect repellent containing at least 20% DEET.
* Wear light-colored, long-sleeved clothing when in wooded or grassy areas.
* Keep your lawn trimmed and remove overgrown vegetation.
* Check yourself, family, and pets for ticks after outdoor activities.
* Suspect ticks at home? Call a pest pro.

May is also Lyme Disease Awareness Month, a timely reminder to stay vigilant. For more information, visit our website.

Stay safe and tick-free!
