Today a priest got a couple truck loads of trees. He’s planting them around the church land and employing parishioners to care for them. The community is sharing the responsibility of reforestation.

Here are endangered Mapou seedlings being brought to a planting site along the community's water source. Residents are paid to plant and care for the trees until they are established and resilient enough to survive on their own.In the long-run the trees will safeguard the quality and quantity of the water there.

In this link, you will see the infamous Haitian Mapou Tree. It's endangered and we are bringing it back. One of the largest native Haitian Trees, fast-growing and beautiful. We are using it to hold the riverbank for generations to come.
