Pink, sage, and gold!

Let’s talk about Toile! This is a design motif that has been popular since the mid 18th century, and generally refers to a complex, nature-inspired and pastoral patterns repeated on fabric. I’ve been attracted to toile motifs since I was a teen, and when I was creating my wedding collections, I absolutely had to design a toile motif. This one took quite a while to perfect. The biggest challenge was making the composition feel modern while retaining the classic toile aesthetic. I think the end result looks airy and timeless.

Another interesting fact: although toile was popularized by France and is, in fact, a french word, the concept actually originated in Ireland!
