Big things are coming to Crowder County Park!

The Wake County Board of Commissioners on Monday approved the schematic design for the park's expansion, paving the way for new trails, new facilities and new opportunities for residents to enjoy the outdoors.

The approved Phase I Schematic Design reflects community priorities such as preserving nature, improving access, supporting play and strengthening environmental education. The plan includes:

🚦 A signalized pedestrian crossing at Ten-Ten Road
🥾 New natural surface trails
🌉 A bridge over Dutchman’s Branch
💚 A segment of greenway that will eventually connect to Cary’s greenway system
🏠 A new park center with an indoor classroom and restrooms
🚗 Additional parking
🎨 Public art

residents are invited to review and comment on draft plans and maps for the Neuse North Area Plan at an upcoming community meeting.

Stop by on Tuesday, June 24, from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at New Hope Fire Station No. 2, 4909 Watkins Road in the Town of Wendell. Planning staff and representatives from other County departments will be available to answer questions and discuss topics such as future land use, agriculture and water quality.
