Blue Springs-Hoke County Community Development Corporation, established in 1995, is a full service community economic development agency delivering an array of services to five counties in the Lower Piedmont/Sandhills region of North Carolina. Counties of service include: Hoke, Scotland, Richmond, Robeson and Western Cumberland. Blue Springs CDC has built a strong track record since 1995 on direct service delivery which further focuses on fostering and forging sufficiency and sustainability. We embrace the position and forward the belief that if we build the people, the people will build the community. Thus historical efforts have centered on providing USDA food service programs in collaboration with Churches; providing seasonal employment opportunities; creating and implementing comprehensive youth development initiatives.
Blue Springs has offered an in-house housing counseling program since 2004 and became HUD approved as a counseling agency in 2008. The agency efforts are focused on assisting potential first-time home buyers with pre-purchase, post purchase and home maintenance, along with financial literacy education, tools and resources. Education and resources are delivered in group sessions and one-on-one experiences. The CDC's in-house comprehensive counseling program is more completely defined by a program plan and course outline developed by the CDC in accordance with HUD standards.
