What a way to honor an amazing man who has had such an impact in all these sailors lives. He’d be so proud of each and every one of them. During the storm Eric yelled “IS THAT ALL YOU GOT RICK” and BOOM! The boom snapped in half! What a story- an everlasting ride that will forever be told. I’m so happy this all came together & we were able to do this without her having a clue. Thank you everyone who showed up to show Rick & Laurie how much we love them!! 💕

Sometimes you just have to cut ittttt ⛵️

Legacy had the ride of their life just now. ⛵💙

Unfortunately, the race is over for them.

Everyone is safe. The adrenaline is still at an all-time high. They were flying across the lake- hitting nearly 30 knots & Mother Nature had other plans. A wild storm rolled in which they were doing a good job getting through but a massive wave clobbered them, snapping the boom clean in half.
That makes it a DNF… but not a defeat.
The stories they’ll tell from this ride will last a lifetime. Their spirits are high & every single one of them gave it everything they had.
I have no doubt Rick was up there yelling, “Give ’em hell!” And that’s exactly what they did.
Man the courage, grit, teamwork all these dude have they sure honored a legacy in the best way they knew how.
We’re proud of every one of you & glad you’re all safe! 💙⚓ they should arrive at the island in the morning.
