I have been doing a boatload of BMW work the past couple of weeks. Lost keys and FRM repairs. Including a G30 chassis 2017 540i with lost keys. This was a first for me and the method used changes the vehicles immobilizer data so the dealer can no longer add keys. I will only do these G chassis bmw (lost keys) with customer acknowledgement and approval that the data is changed, via text agreement or signed waiver. It can always be changed back to original in the future with a dealer ordered key, and the original data saved in my programming tools. Spare keys for these G chassis BMW do not do this so let me know if you need a spare!

Today I did BMW FRM module repair on a 2010 BMW 3 series in Randolph MA. FRM modules are commonly corrupted, and the symptoms include headlights staying on, and blinkers and window switches not working.

To fix these, we remove the module, read the data, repair the files, write the new files back, and reinstall fully repaired.

A little take home work this evening as I ran out of time on site during a very busy workday!

2000 Mercedes Benz SL500 with all keys lost. On this particular car we remove the immobilizer module from the car and remove a 64 leg MCU from the circuit board inside the module, to read the data on it and write it to a transponder chip inside the key, to allow the car to be able to start. Then solder it all back together.

The dealer can’t do these keys at all anymore and neither can most locksmiths. This particular customer waited almost 2 weeks for me while I was away on vacation last week! If you need keys for any of your vehicles in the Greater Boston area, give this expert a call!
