Not all rabbit food is created equal.

Many pet stores sell "muesli-style" rabbit mixes containing seeds, corn, dried fruit, nuts, and colorful pieces. While these mixes may look tasty, they're not a healthy choice for rabbits. They encourage selective feeding and can contribute to digestive issues that may increase the risk of serious conditions like GI stasis.

Instead, choose a **plain, high-fiber, timothy hay-based pellet** with no added seeds, nuts, dried fruit, or colorful extras.

Many pet stores still sell salt and mineral licks for rabbits—but the truth is, healthy rabbits don't need them.

A rabbit eating a balanced diet of:
🌾 Unlimited grass hay

💧 Fresh water
🥣 A measured amount of quality pellets
..already gets the minerals they need.

Extra salt can actually do more harm than good, especially for rabbits with underlying health issues.
