Crossroads Hope Academy

There are moments that remind us exactly why Crossroads exists.

Over the years, we've heard so many of our boys say, "When I grow up, I'm coming back to work here." It always made us smile, but deep down, we hoped one day it would really happen.

Today, that hope has become reality.

We're beyond excited to welcome back Mike P. (also known around Crossroads as "Chico") not as one of our boys, but as one of our staff.

Watching Mike's journey has been one of the greatest privileges we've had. We saw him grow during his time at Crossroads, and we've continued to cheer him on as he's built a life for himself here in Port Charlotte. He recently completed firefighter school, and now he's beginning training to join our team as well.

People often ask us what success looks like.

For us, success is watching a young man graduate, earn a job, discover his purpose, and build an independent future. Those milestones matter deeply, and we celebrate every one of them.

But there is something especially meaningful about seeing one of our boys choose to come back—not because he has to, but because this place helped shape who he is. It means he found more than a home here. He found family. And now he's ready to invest in the next generation of boys who are walking the same road he once traveled.

Mike coming back feels less like a new employee joining our team and more like family coming home.

Our mission is to help teen foster boys build lives filled with faith, hope, healthy relationships, and purpose. Seeing one of our own return to help guide the next generation is a beautiful reminder that hope has a way of coming full circle.

Welcome home, Chico. We're so proud of the man you've become, and we can't wait to see the impact you'll have on the lives of the boys following in your footsteps. ❤️
