Due to an unexpected family emergency, our workshop presenter, Will Bryles, is unable to conduct tomorrow's Pullet Chain & Broiler Workshop. As a result, the workshop has been postponed.
We are currently working with Will to confirm a new date and will share that information with you as soon as it is finalized.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as Will attends to his family.
Thank you for your patience, and I will be in touch with the rescheduled date as soon as it is confirmed.

🍅 Mayes County 4-H Tomato Canning Workshop 🍅

Five Mayes County 4-H members participated in our Tomato Canning Workshop, where they learned how to safely preserve the tomatoes they have been growing through their Tomato Project Club plants.

While their tomatoes were being processed, members also made fresh salsa to sample.

A special thank you to April Hauenstein, Mayes County OSU Extension Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Educator, for teaching the class and sharing her expertise in safe food preservation. Workshops like this help our members gain valuable life skills while seeing their projects through from planting to preserving.

We are proud of these 4-H'ers for continuing to learn by doing!

🪶 Mayes County 4-H Leather Workshop 🪶

Our Mayes County 4-H members had a great time learning the art of leathercraft!

Nine members participated in the beginner class, where they created their own leather wristbands and key chains. Six members attended the advanced class and crafted either a coin purse or a pocket knife holder, showcasing their growing skills and creativity.

The best part? Members can exhibit the leather projects they created at the Mayes County Fair, giving them an opportunity to showcase the skills they learned during the workshop.

A special thank you to Judy and Eric from Tandy Leather for sharing their time, knowledge, and talent with our 4-H'ers. We appreciate your dedication to helping our youth learn new skills and gain confidence through hands-on experiences!
