Evan's Piano Tuning Service

Yesterday, had a piano that was 67 years from tuning. Amazingly, it was only a half step flat. It took 2 prep tunings, then regular one. It's a myth that a piano has to be tuned flat because it's low. If there was actual structural reasons, which isn't common, then that's one exception. It is generally fine to pull the piano to it's regular pitch to start with, even if it's a half step flat. There are some rare exceptions where it was built low, maybe at a half step to begin with if it's super super old (1800s).
