This is what we mean when we say we want to give women "access to mountaineering." Between gear costs, travel, time, resources, and community, mountaineering can have many barriers to entry, which is why we created multiple scholarships that break those barriers by providing financial and gear support for experiences ranging from introductory mountaineering courses, rock climbing experiences, and even an adventure media scholarship.
We open scholarships December 15th. Follow us or sign up for our newsletter to stay tuned! https://www.summitscholarship.org/newsletter

Meet Anna Pfaff đşđ¸
Anna Pfaff is an alpinist, climber, mentor, and explorer who finds equal joy in rock, ice, and everything in between. She is featured in our Women of Mountaineering Calendar in August!
Ask Anna what mountain moment means the most to her, and she won't name a summit. For her, it's the places, the partnerships, the people, and the memories made along the way. Much of Anna's work today centers on teaching and mentorshipâsharing what she has learned and helping others find their own way in the mountains.
We're proud to feature Anna in the 2027 Women of Mountaineering calendar. đď¸ Learn more here: https://calendar.summitscholarship.org/

Women aren't missing from the big mountains, we simply don't hear their stories told as often. They're leading, guiding, putting up first ascents and climbing for the pure joy of it.
The 2027 Women of Mountaineering wall calendar features twelve women, photographed where they do their work and pursue their passion.

"Transformative experiences arenât meant exclusively for people who already feel confident that they belong. Sometimes the person who needs the mountain most is the one who arrives with doubts they havenât yet uncovered."
Words from Mariam, one of our 2025 Rope Team Rising scholarship recipients, who outlines perfectly the benefits of pushing yourself in the outdoors.

Each year we take submissions for 12 inspiring women who push boundaries in the backcountry around the world to feature in our Women of Mountaineering Calendar. These women arenât just adventurers; theyâre advocates. â đđťâ And we're letting you into the process, by helping us choose the cover photo for the 2027 calendar.
