"Come by our booth!" We get this a ton at OTG, and we certainly adore it. Our only concern is when we do arrive, it's just samples and sell sheets.
With trade shows being such a large investment, I do think it's wise for brands to get creative. Your booth should offer an experience, treat it like a movie scene.
A/B/C list celebrities do help drive traffic to your booth, but not every brand has that type of support.
For your next trade show, try hosting a simple happy hour; this can be a mocktail or boozy event, but do attempt to incorporate your brand or product into it.
Your event should be highlighted on all social platforms and also sent to your golden goose buyers. Don't use just text, create an appealing one-pager to reassure that this was well thought out.
Lastly, it's important to add your distributor logos to some card stock. These are then printed out and placed on your booth. Potential buyers will then be made aware that your product is readily available.
