The behind the scenes of First Responders Dinner by Lexi 🤣 quick thawing turkeys that are still frozen too much, prepping the food on virtually no counter space at my new apartment, adjusting to the new reality my new oven can only fit one turkey at a time versus my old one fitting 2-3 depending on size. Still wouldn’t give this up for my life. My mothers memory means to much to me and giving back to those who freely would give up their lives for a stranger, to those who run into buildings instead of out of them, to those who help us at our worst moments is worth more than whatever trivial thing I have going on in my life at the time. So here I am Christmas Eve, cooking one turkey at a time for the rest of the night into the morning (at the very least with the amount of turkeys I have to cook for tomorrow) to ensure all THREE dinners for local precincts (2 in Providence, 1 in Pawtucket) get the meal they are expecting.
