There's also political tension surrounding PURA's chairperson, Marissa P. Gillett, with some lawmakers accusing utility companies of campaigning against her. Despite differing opinions on the matter, there's consensus that certain expenses claimed by Eversource are recoverable, albeit with varying perspectives on the timing of payment. Additionally, the Millstone bill, initially aimed at stabilizing the nuclear plant's profits, has led to fixed electricity prices and fluctuations in market rates.
