🎥 Throwback to 2009 — the day 24-year-old me got sent out alone to film Jane Goodall.

I was working as a young news photog at WLNE-TV in Providence, still figuring things out behind the camera. It was a weekend, so no reporter—just me, my gear, and the instructions: “Go get video, maybe an interview, and if you can, grab audience reaction.”

And then there she was. Jane Goodall.

I was nervous as hell, trying to hand her a mic, when she laughed and said: “Oh dear, just pin it on me, I don’t care.” That little moment put me at ease instantly. What followed was a conversation I’ll never forget—she was so warm, generous, and patient with every answer.

Easily one of the best experiences of my career.
