What would it look like if God showed up in His full glory right now? 👁️🔥
The prophet Habakkuk saw it in a vision, and what he described should stop us in our tracks. "His glory covered the heavens and His praise filled the earth. His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from His hand, where His power was hidden. Plague went before Him; pestilence followed His steps. He stood, and shook the earth; He looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains crumbled and the age-old hills collapsed." (Habakkuk 3:3-6)
This is not a gentle, soft image of God. This is the God of the last days, the God of Revelation, the God who spoke the universe into existence and will one day shake everything that can be shaken. In a world that has largely forgotten the fear of the Lord, this passage is a thunderclap reminder: He is holy, He is sovereign, and He is coming. The same power that split mountains is the power that holds your life in His hands today. That is not a reason for terror. For those who trust Him, it is the greatest reason for peace.
