Today we joined with Mayor Brett Smiley, City Council members, and the Mile of History Association to celebrate a $6.2 million Municipal Road & Bridge Fund loan to finance accessibility and historic preservation improvements along Benefit Street in the City of Providence.

Benefit Street is one of Rhode Island’s most iconic thoroughfares, and maintaining its public infrastructure is essential to ensuring it remains an accessible destination for residents and visitors alike. Today we visited the City of Providence's historic and beautiful Roger Williams Park. Using a $450,000 award from our Municipal Infrastructure Grant Program, the park is building a new Cunliff Lake Boardwalk and fishing dock, while also upgrading existing stormwater management infrastructure. A great example of a project that provides both environmental and public access benefits.
