Dr. Sabine Kastner received this year's Award for Education in Neuroscience from the Society of Neuroscience (SfN) for her contribution to science education for all ages. Among these contributions is the creation of Frontiers for Young Minds, an open-access scientific journal for and edited by children, along with Dr. Robert Knight. Frontiers for Young Minds provides an opportunity for children from all around the world to engage with scientific research and participate in the publishing process. The Kids Project had fun leading short lessons and demonstrations at the annual Littlebrook Science Expo! Students learned about our project, tried some demonstrations using perception distortion goggles, and had fun asking questions about the brain. We can't wait until next year! :)

We had a great time at the annual Communiversity ArtsFest. Families learned about the current projects in our lab, enjoyed demos using perception distortion goggles, and tried a variety of brain mazes. Thank you to all those that came by our table!
