Princeton Community Housing - PCH

We said we ✨can✨, and we did!
This past Saturday, Princeton Community Housing (PCH) teamed up with Sustainable Princeton for a Canstruction-inspired event at the Princeton Shopping Center.
Together, we stacked approximately 850 cans into a structure inspired by the Princeton Community Village (PCV) Community Garden—a resident-led space where neighbors connect, collaborate, and grow fresh food with guidance from our partners at Sustainable Princeton. Local architect Joseph Weiss generously lent us his expertise to design and guide the project, helping bring our CANmunity Garden to life.
The PCV Community Garden was a fitting inspiration. Just as the actual garden provides opportunities for our neighbors to connect, problem-solve, and help feed each other, this project will do the same. After a day of being on display, the cans and boxes of pasta making up our structure were distributed by Send Hunger Packing Princeton (SHUPP) to neighbors facing food insecurity.
Thank you to SHUPP for organizing this meaningful community event, to Joseph Weiss for his architectural expertise, and to Sustainable Princeton for partnering with us on this project.
NOTE: The PCH offices will be closed this coming Friday, June 19th, to celebrate Juneteenth! We will be back on Monday, June 22nd.

Last week, our senior residents at Elm Court and Harriet Bryan House got together for a game of Lotería (aka Mexican bingo) with Princeton, NJ Government's Human Services (PHS) and the Princeton NJ Police Department!
Lotería has become a beloved tradition in Princeton over the past few years, and this time the fun came straight to our residents. The turnout was inspiring, with seniors of all backgrounds gathered to learn the game for the first time, teach neighbors how to play, and enjoy each other’s company.
A huge thank you to PHS and PPD for bringing so much joy to our residents right at home. We love seeing Princeton come together like this! ❤️🌟
