“Scrapie” hats, that is what I call these. The pattern allows me to use up scrapes (small amounts of left over yarn from other projects). My mother helps me pick out the five colors. It is fun to see how the colors blend together. Even using the same colors but in different order will change how the hat looks. It is a little time consuming to knit. The brim takes 3 hours for 2 inches. It is a corrugated 1X1 rib pattern alternating colors every other stitch. The yarn used is mostly 100% alpaca or a blend of alpaca with bamboo or silk or cotton. Hand wash, cold water, towel dry, shape and lay flat to air dry. Displayed on small size mannequin head. More information in comments of each photo. Snuggle Socks or Couch Potato Socks, that is what I call these socks. These socks are for when you are sitting on the couch, reading, watching TV, etc. Keep your toes and feet snugly warm. They are hand knitted with thicker yarn than usual for socks. (Sport weight 3 ply instead of fingering/sock weight) . The natural colored are from my alpacas. They are 80% alpaca, 20% bamboo. Bamboo has some anti-fungal properties, gives some strength and a heather tone to the color. The colored ones are hand dyed from friend’s alpacas and mixed with some wool. Size for adult women. These hats are hand knitted using mosaic knitting technique. Some of the yarn is from my alpacas and was mixed with bamboo. Bamboo is anti-fungal, adds strength, is soft and gives a heather tone color. The gray is from Oliver. The brown is from Betty. The ivory is a mix from Sonya and her daughter Sophia. The hats are adult medium to large. The mannequin is sized small so hats look larger on the mannequin. Hand wash, cool water, towel dry, shape and lay flat to finish air drying. Some times hand dyed yarn, the color will vary throughout adding to the uniqueness of the color. More information in comments of each photo. Price is $28 to $30. Preferred contact is email: [email protected] or text 815.303.9376.
