Please see an important update for the exciting Fourth of July fireworks show at Fighting Creek Park!

LIGHT UP POWHATAN FIREWORKS IMPORTANT UPDATE! 🎆

Due to the extreme heat forecasted for Saturday, July 4th, we have chosen to delay the event time for the fireworks. Parking at Fighting Creek Park will open at 7:00 PM, with the event starting at 8:00 PM and shuttles starting at 8:00 PM. Food trucks will be available at 7:00 PM inside Fighting Creek Park parking lot.

Additional measures have been added to keep guests as cool as possible:
- Water Refill station on the side of the concessions stand
- Two misting tents inside the gates

We encourage attendees to bring plenty of water/coolers and umbrellas, hats and sunglasses to shade themselves. Please wear light clothing!

There is some natural tree cover providing shade but it will still be hot! Bring your own chairs and blankets.

❗️Tents, canopies, glass, alcohol and pets are not allowed. ❗️

PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES and PLEASE SHARE!

We would like to congratulate Lt. John Menc on his recent graduation from the Virginia Fire Officer Academy! This is a demanding week-long residential program hosted at the University of Richmond, where the students learn from experts on leadership, conflict resolution, physical fitness, team building, and other skills that make a more effective leader. We're proud that Lt. Menc continues the tradition of Powhatan members that have been accepted into this elite program!
