🥾Meet the Hiker!🥾 An avid and experienced hiker, Mike Tracy has balanced his lifelong love of nature and the wilderness with practicing internal medicine and pediatrics in Powell, Wyoming since 2002. Mike believes in the healing power of spending time in the great outdoors and seeks to encourage society to combat Nature Deficit Disorder. He discovered his love for backpacking early in life in Colorado, with fond memories formed in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass and Holy Cross Wilderness areas. This century, he has spent considerable time hiking the Continental Divide Trail in Wyoming in addition to trails in the Beartooth Mountains and on the Bridger Teton, Bighorn and Shoshone National Forests. He looks forward to using the 18-25 daily miles on this hike to encourage discussions about su***de prevention, 988, intervention and postvention strategies in the states of the Continental Divide and beyond. He feels it important to note that we are not drawing attention to any one individual, occupation, or other demographic. Su***de is an issue that crosses all boundaries and we leave it to those impacted by su***de to tell their stories. Mike hopes to continue long hikes and volunteer trail work on our amazing public lands for many years to come.
