The funeral for Joe "Trooper Looper" B. Looper, a retired Cobb County police officer and community fixture in Marietta, Georgia, is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2026.
Service Details
Funeral Service: Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Piedmont Church (570 Piedmont Rd, Marietta, GA 30066).
Visitation: Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Marietta Funeral Home & Crematory (915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066).
Interment: Burial will follow the funeral service at Chandler Cemetery in Calhoun, Georgia.

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Lee Ann Tanks. Lee Ann was a former employee of Cobb Fire and most recently working with Cobb Public Safety's Internal Affairs team. Lee Ann was also the wife of retired Cobb Fire Deputy Chief and Cobb Public Services Director William Tanks. Please keep the Tanks family in your thoughts and prayers.

Cobb County Retired Employees Association (CCREA) will be meeting Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the West Cobb Senior Center at 11:30 a.m.

This month our speaker will be Sandy Paninchi with Cobb Senior Services. Sandy will inform us of the various programs, connections, and day trips that Cobb Senior Services offers. As I have mentioned before, they offer many informational and hands-on classes and programs that many of our retirees have asked us to provide at our meetings. I encourage you to come here Sandy and take advantage of any services our own Cobb Senior Services provide.
We hope each of you will be able to attend and please encourage other retirees to join us. This is a great opportunity for fellowship and catching up with old friends. We will continue to work hard to provide information that is important to you and have speakers that you want to hear from, so please share your ideas with us.
