Georgia Republicans are pushing legislation that would make local elected officials non-partisan in five counties where they have found they cannot win. Only 5 counties in Georgia and not the other 154 counties.

Word to my Georgia Republican colleagues who think taking the party off of the ballot in local elections in Cobb will mean that people won't know you are a Republican.

In other states, the political parties make sure people know who is what party on the ballot. Not only for the ones that are normally partisan but also the local city council races and judges. Instead of decreasing partisanship, Georgia Republicans are about to supercharge partisanship in every election.

He is Majority Leader in the Georgia House of Representatives.
