New York State finally has a state budget with some protections for immigrants, but what exactly made it in? Our Dutchess County Organizer Keith breaks it down 🔥

✅ The good: New York is banning face coverings for immigration agents and ending formal agreements between law enforcement and ICE

❌ The bad: informal collaboration between ICE and law enforcement is still allowed, putting millions of New Yorkers at risk

The budget is done, but the fight is NOT over. Here are steps we can take right now (details at link in bio):

📩 Email legislative leadership and demand they pass the full New York for All bill before June 4th

Landlord Special really getting out of hand 😭

Working families are being pushed out of their homes by rent increases while wealthy landlords line their pockets. That’s why we’re focused on passing the REST Act so we can expand rent stabilization and freeze rent upstate 🏠

The REST Act just passed through the Assembly Housing and Codes committees, which means it’s gaining serious momentum. We need to make sure it gets a floor vote before the legislative session ends 🏃🏃🏃

🚨 Email legislative leadership and make sure the REST Act gets a full vote: https://forthemany.org/freeze-rent-upstate
