The best part of seeing this year-long project displayed for the first time was having the opportunity to chat with some of the makers from libraries around the region. Thank you! ❤️ Get • We were delighted at the opportunity to support our two Tempestry project knitters at the Mohonk Mountain House yesterday, as part of the Mid-Hudson Libraries Tempestry Collection Gala! 🧵

Each knitter chose a year to knit based on temperature data recorded at the Mohonk Preserve whose records date back to 1895. Each knitter had the opportunity to choose a year that holds special significance for them. Two of our patrons, Nancy and Jody each completed a whole year worth of temperature recordings for the collection.

It is an amazing piece of work to see our changing climate displayed by year all in one place. Be sure to check out the travelling collection when it comes to a library near you!

Just finished setting up this Tempestry exhibit at Mohonk Mountain House. It was made by a hundred volunteer knitters organized through the Mid Hudson Library System, and depicts climate data from 1895-2024 for the mid Hudson Valley. Data comes from Mohonk Preserve by way of NOAA, where national and international climate & weather data continues (for now) to be available to the public.
