I owe Arkansas an apology…
Because why did nobody tell me you could do ALL OF THIS + eat some amazing food all in one trip? 😭
We feel so fortunate to have experienced this beautiful state with and already can’t wait to go back because we have a whole list of places we still want to see!
Here’s the 5 day Arkansas road trip we did:
🌿 Day 1: Petit Jean State Park (hike to Cedar Falls + visit CCC overlook)
Stay at Mather Lodge
♨️ Day 2: Take Scenic 7 Byway to Garvan Woodland Gardens and Hot Springs National Park
Stay at Covey Tent Retreat
🛶 Day 3: Visit Lake Ouachita State Park + take a sunset cruise (these can be booked right in the state park for about $14pp)
🥾 Day 4: Hike in Ouachita National Forest. But first grab breakfast at Rise & Dine Cafe and try the chocolate gravy!
⛰ Day 5: Summit Pinnacle Mountain before you head home
A few things to know:
Fly into Little Rock, Arkansas (LIT)
You’ll want a car for this itinerary
Don’t forget to grab a free Arkansas State Park Passport at any of the visitors centers to collect stamps along the way
Do this itinerary Thursday - Monday to use only 3 days of PTO 👀

East Coast road trips are WILDLY underrated if you just know where to look…
Save this if you’re from the Northeast and always trying to figure out where to go for a quick weekend that doesn’t involve a ton of travel time and using half your PTO 🌿
