Today marks 18 years since Mike Monsoor earned the United States highest military honor. Mike did this saving the lives of his 3 teammates on a rooftop in Ramadi Iraq. One of those teammates is a friend of mine and I could never express what 18 years of friendship has meant to me and my family. Mike, thanks for being the hero you are.

Tomorrow’s holiday is to celebrate the ultimate sacrifice that members of this nation’s military have made in the defense of our nation. I am grateful that there are people willing to give it all for our nation and will never forget their sacrifice.
