Congratulations to new Metro Councilor Miles Palacios serving District 4!

Palacios was appointed to the vacant District 4 seat by a 4-0 vote from the Metro Council earlier today. The appointment lasts through 2026, which completes the term of Juan Carlos González, who represented District 4 on the council. González resigned his District 4 seat when he was appointed to the vacant Metro Council President position last month.

At 33 he is the government affairs manager for the Hospital Association of Oregon. He was previously chief of staff to state Sen. Wlnsvey Campos, and also has worked for the office of former Gov. Kate Brown and for the Association of Oregon Counties. He has served as an elected Director for the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District since 2023.

Raised in rural Oregon and now living in Aloha, he strives to represent the varied perspectives and community needs within his district, which includes most of urban Washington County north of Canyon Road / Tualatin Valley Highway, the communities of Forest Grove, Cornelius, Hillsboro, Bethany, Cedar Mill and much of Beaverton.
