🛌A lot of us parents prioritize the other rooms in the house, and neglect our own bedroom. But everybody – especially parents to littles – deserves a calm, quiet, peaceful place to sleep. Try implementing one or two of these ideas to see if they help:

🗄️Nightstand: get a nightstand with drawers for corralling things that are accessed regularly that make your nightstand top feel cluttery. One of the few things I keep on top of my nightstand is a stack of Post-Its and a pen, so I can all capture all those last-minute reminders that seem to pop into my head when I’m trying to fall asleep!

🗑️Laundry hamper: this is THE solution to clothes piling up on your bedroom floor. A laundry hamper that is lightweight + tall + slim profile makes it easy to carry it to the laundry room when it’s full.

💍Jewelry: We love the jewelry organizer hanging cabinets from Amazon. But it also pays to sort through your jewelry and see if it falls mostly into one or two categories. For a lot of women, they just need a spot for earrings and necklaces. So smaller organizers can be super helpful.

🕶️Dresser top: A lot of small miscellaneous things tend to pile up here! A jewelry holder will help with a lot of that. Beyond that, perhaps some small bins for organizing sunglasses and other accessories would be helpful. A memorabilia box is a good spot for birthday cards and travel souvenirs. And a small decorative container is useful for holding tiny buttons, missing earring backs, safety pins and other tiny items.

🛏️Extra blankets: These can make a bed look messy quickly, but they are also quick to tidy up by tossing them into a large, decorative basket on the floor.

We’ve organized SO MANY Doom Rooms at reSPACEd—here are our go‑to tips to make it less overwhelming:

1️⃣ Block off just 1 hour at first. Don’t tackle it all at once—chip away in chunks.

2️⃣ Pack + Stack. Grab bins, box things fast without analyzing what they are, and stack against the wall. This is to open up floor space so you have space to sort.

3️⃣ Label your bags. Trash 🗑️, Donate ❤️, Recycle ♻️—and get them out of the house immediately.

4️⃣ 15‑minute timer. Go through bins one at a time. Sort into piles with sticky notes labels so you don’t lose track.

5️⃣ Don't leave a mess for yourself. Put away items that belong elsewhere, keep adding to piles next session.

6️⃣ Container‑ize. Once everything’s sorted, give it a proper home.

✨ Remember: Organizing is a marathon, not a sprint. Give yourself grace—and if it feels like too much, DM us at reSPACEd. We’re here to help!
