Today Mira spoke to a small class at the Department of Engineering, Architecture & Design at the American University of Beirut & the students brought the questions! It was inspiring.

Tomorrow, she will be giving a much larger public lecture at 6pm speaking on Building the World we Want to See.

She will cover the intersection of advertising, AI, social justice, liberation, privilege, feminism, power, social media, and the opportunities we have right now.

Engineering Lecture Hall.
October 24th. 6pm.
Open to all in Beirut!

What not to miss at the close of Arab-American Heritage Month >

1: Love is An Ex-Country: A Memoir by Randa Jarrar. Published in 2021, Jarrar’s essays share about her life as a Palestinian and Egyptian woman.

2: A Woman Is No Man by Etaf Rum. Rum earned numerous high-profile literary accolades with this intergenerational story of Palestinian-American women in Brooklyn.

3: Mai Al-Nakib’s novel, An Unlasting Home, tells the story of Sara, a philosophy professor who moves from California to Kuwait. Like many of our favorite stories at Red & Co., this novel weaves together the connections between daughters, mothers, and grandmothers. (Visit the author’s website at https://buff.ly/3LzWTwQ)

4: Q is Jude Chehab’s debut feature film, and it is playing at the Tribeca Film Festival this June. The documentary explores how her mother’s commitment to an esoteric religious order impacts their relationship.
