I go through this with business owners and marketers every single day. Its extremely rare someone comes to me with a well structured website.

Google uses these heading tags to structure a hierarchy of content on each page of your website...

The main topic of the page should be the single and only H1 tag of that page, making sure you don't have multiple pages with the same main topic.

However, most website builders use these for styling fonts. Go into the text editor of a page of your website and you'll see H1 tag gives you the biggest size font. This is as deep as most website builders go.

Designers are great at design but using these tags correctly is not common, unless they've been called out and learned.

Check your high traffic pages and see what you H1 says.
Does it describe the services you provide, in the area you provide it?

If you sell Peanut Butter in New York City, your homepage H1 tag should probably be something similar to:

New York City Peanut Butter Boss

or whatever is on brand.

If you see something in your H1 that doesn't describe your services how do you think Google knows who to share your service with?

Fix your H1 tags. Sell more Peanut Butter. Be a boss.
