This song has been in the making for the last 15 years. The story behind its meaning and creation is something special that I’d love to share.

The Story:

On the Monday evening of 2/21/2011, I sat down at my desk and started strumming my Guitar. As I was strumming, the screensaver on my computer turned on, showing a montage of pictures from my family’s vacation at Bar Harbor in September of 2009. I didn’t realize at the time that this would be the last family vacation we would all be together as a family.

While looking at the pictures, I began to strum and sing about my dad. As I commonly do, I grabbed my phone, hit record, and sang and played. I had no idea what chords I would play, nor did I know what words I would say. I started singing about my father and later in the song I began to apply the lyrics to both my father and a love lost (none in particular).

Fast forward to July of 2011. My dear friend Tony Gatti (The Bulkhead) really liked my music and wanted to record something. This was my first Studio work with Tony. In 3 hours we tracked drums, two guitar parts, three vocal parts, and bass. I used the original lyrics I mumbled in my phone back in February.

7/31/2023… Man has life changed, beautiful wife, amazing baby girl, life is great! Tony and I decided to recreate the magic we made back in 2011. We tracked drums, bass, acoustic guitars (and various other instruments) for 13 tracks… but this one song STILL has that special something. I finished the recording process with my long-time friend, Dominic Lavoie (Shabby Load) and I am ready to release this to the world. That day is today, the 15th anniversary of my Dad leaving this earth, but he’s still spinning around 🙂

This song was written for my father, however, I would like to think that this song may mean something special to everyone who listens to it.
