The Climate Protection Program took an important step towards moving the program forward: Oregon's Environmental Quality Commission officially named CALSTART to carry out the program's community climate investments, which go to Tribal, rural, low-income, and BIPOC Oregonians hit first and worst by climate change.

What does this mean for Oregonians? Efficient heating and cooling for Oregon seniors. Home weatherization for low income households. Lower energy bills, higher paying jobs, and cleaner air for Oregonians across the state.

Most importantly, the Climate Protection Program remains in effect today and continues to be lawful in Oregon. Despite an ongoing lawsuit from the fossil fuel industry, the program is moving forward, investments are being made, and benefits will be reaching communities across the state.

This announcement is proof that the work is not on hold. It's happening. And we're not backing down from baseless attacks made by corporations trying to rewrite the rules in their favor.
