Responsibilities:
- Oversees the implementation of new building technologies; including Building Automation Systems (BAS) used in the construction, modernization, and reprogramming of existing systems throughout the region.
- Reviews new construction plans, project specifications and network diagrams to ensure building system design specifications are in conformance with national Smart and Sustainable Buildings (SSB) policy and IT requirements.
- Responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the regional SB Program, including formulating overall program budget, objectives and tasks; performing program planning; making strategic and technical decisions with regard to program goals, modifying short and long-term plans and milestones as needed as program needs and technologies change; and/or personally handling the most complex SB projects that arise regionally.
- Primary liaison with the national GSA SB program and regional advocate, incumbent provides expert advice on SB program matters to GSA employees at all levels and customer agency management officials. Collaborates with regional project leads and information technology (IT) specialists to ensure compliance with agency-wide SB policies, procedures and performance measures.
- Inspect sites to identify and discuss system related issues with on site technicians and Property Management to develop recommendations; Ensure criteria for major repairs, expansions and upgrades to the existing system(s), and or new systems for consistency with regional and national initiatives and requirements; and/or personally review SB networked technologies from a quality control perspective to inform ongoing program planning and decision-making.
