I’m always thinking of my old friend, Chad. He’s always in my heart. He would have turned 54 a couple of weeks ago, and I wanted to post about him on his birthday, but sometimes life gets in the way. To have known Chad, is to love Chad. Seriously, the guy was a big Teddy Bear and he gave the best hugs. I shared so many great memories with him, that it felt like a lifetime. He was so incredibly talented. He was genuine, he was real and I appreciated his honesty.
He was an amazing music teacher, to countless kids at the School of Rock, and also to me. And I had already been playing guitar for a minute. Did you know that Chad was the best guitarist in AHC? Even though he played bass. He really didn’t even need any guitarists, I think we just helped out because he couldn’t play all the instruments at the same time. But, for real, to watch him play guitar or bass was awesomeness. He knew both instruments inside and out and his right hand speed and agility was part of what made his songwriting so awesome. I’m proud and thankful to have shared the stage with him around the world. It was an honor, Chad. I won’t ever forget you.
