Zooming in on the details in the forest that create a fabric of pattern…today’s featured artists hone their observation and appreciation of the smaller parts to create a tapestry of pattern and punctuation in this 2nd edition of TREE: Breath of Humanity. A wide array of media (printmaking, photography, sculpture, drawing) express the repetition of leaves, pine needles, blooms, bark texture, tree silhouette, and small creatures that float like tiny blooms in the forest.

Artist Angelo Varisano’s “Mitochondrial Eve” personifies the exhibition’s theme “TREE II: Breath of Humanity,” describing the connection between humanity and nature; and the interconnection between all living things. An expansive painting that vibrates with a life force beyond what can be seen. We are transported into an abstract dream-like realm that signals infinite potential and the idea that we actively impact all life forms…intrinsically linked (down to a cellular network).
