🌊 More about the episode: Ep 4 features a deep dive into the story of Miriam, a leader of the Israelite people and sister to Moses - with a special focus on her connection to water and her courageous questioning of power, including a deep dive into a challenging episode in the Book of Numbers.

🌿 Alicia Jo Rabins retells Miriam’s story, then the filmmaking team travels to the healing studio of Jewish herbalist, , to discuss traditional Jewish healing modalities and Dori’s concept of the “Miriamic” relationship with power. They meet up with Rabbi for a conversation about Miriam as a beacon of hope, then sit down with beloved musician and activist, to hear Aly’s take on Miriam as a model for song, leadership, and courage in difficult times. The episode concludes with a live performance of “Snow/Scorpions and Spiders,” an indie-folk song about Miriam, filmed in the historic dome synagogue at Congregation Beth Israel (Portland, OR).
