We could enact IP 28.
This would be the biggest sales tax hike ever. This in a state which has rejected every attempt at installing a sales tax added to income tax added to property tax.
Only a 2.5% tax, at every level from the producer, to the manufacturer, to the packager, to the distributer, to the retailer, to your pocket, YOU pay a mere 10.5% more for Everything including food. That $3.00 gallon of milk becomes $3.30.

We could tell the State, get out of my pocket resouces, use your own pocket resources. Use your vast pocket, so big, so overflowing in wealth, use the natural resources.

We could, means you and I.

Steve Johnson 2016 | Home The election this May could result in more of the same failing policies of state leadership that we have had again and again in recent years. Failure to adequately fund road construction, public education and public safety. Failure to obtain quality jobs in sectors other than low-paying service jobs...

Esco is closing its Portland plant, in part, because of the challanges of operating in a Portland neighborhood.
True, other factors are involved in their decision. This State could do better in keeping a century long jobs partner, employing over 200!

Long overdue update!
On November 18, 2015, I filed, as a Democrat, for the May, 2016 Oregon Primary.
On January 12, 2016, the campaign website, sbjforgovernor.org, went live.
This campaign focus is three issues,
1). Jobs
2). Public Education
3). Resource Preservation, Exploitation
The campaign continues seeking sound advice from all, as to the best course, on these and other issues. YES, I as the candidate, have what I believe, are reasonable, practical, informed and common sense ideas on how Oregon could take a leading role among Western States. I cannot emphasize enough how IMPORTANT, YOUR IDEAS, are. So please, feel free to contact the campaign! After all, Oregon is you.
