We’ve been carrying Gepard for a bit now, but one of their newest bases we brought into the shop is Hør Silke! This yarn is a beautiful blend of French linen and tussah silk. It created a stunning, slinky yarn, perfect for summer garments or transitional pieces.
It’s no secret that we love linen yarn. Not only is our Undine beloved base, but Antigone is also a huge fav in the shop, so it was a no-brainer when we discovered Hør Silke. Linen Silk has so many wonderful qualities, but what we think makes it so special is its longevity. The more you wear your linen pieces, the softer they become, making the perfect drapey garment. Add in a little silk and it’s a combination that just gets better and better with wear!

Our foraging color for June was Emerald Ash Borer! This colorway is inspired by the metallic tones of the beetle’s wings and the bright pink/red you get a glimpse of when their wings are spread. Called the EAB for short, this little beetle is incredibly invasive and is detrimental to ash tree health. Their larvae burrow into the tree bark and feed inside the trunk. then dig their way out, leaving tunnels and paths throughout the tree. Shipping materials such as packing crates are suspected to have introduced the EAB to North America back in the 1800s. Since then, they’ve damaged so much forestry that many ash tree species are considered threatened, impacting ecosystems and other wildlife. Quarantine zones have been set up to prevent their spread, and forestry departments continuously work on suppressing the species. To help aid the spread of EAB, buy your firewood locally, avoid planting ash trees, and learn how to identify EAB infestations!
Extras for this color are on our website now for all you Foraging Club members! You can join our Foraging Club on our website and can choose between four different bases: Maiden, Priestess, Fae, and Maven.
