Extinction Rebellion Portland - XR PDX

XRPDX takes the data center awareness campaign to SW Portland.

The World on Fire Firetruck was there to support volunteers and highlight the extreme wastefulness of the data center boom that utilizes vast quantities of energy, water, and land.

Many data centers are being constructed to facilitate the expansion of artificial intelligence and Bitcoin for capitalistic and materialistic purposes, not to benefit people and planet.

It is time to end this expansion before more damage has been done. Make sure to Vote by dropping off your ballot at an Official Ballot Drop Site location by 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

WHAT: May Day Rally and March

WHEN: Friday, May 1
Noon - Community resource fair and youth rally on education cuts
1 p.m. - Rally with speakers focused on Migrant Rights and People & Planet
3 p.m. - March. Meet in front of the Art Museum at 2:45 p.m. for the march to the Mexican Consulate and then on to Portland Metro Chamber of Commerce at World Trade Center.

WHERE: South Park Blocks near PSU

This migrant-led event is about ICE OUT as well as People and Planet's Needs over Corporate Greed. It's time to get LOUD! Come ready to chant and make some noise.
