One of my favorite places in all the lands is this incredible sea of flowers in Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge. The balsamroot and lupine flowers explode over miles of hiking trails and it’s just the most stunning sight, but when you add in these sweet, delightful pups and their adoring humans- I’m just in awe of the wonder of it all! Experiencing all this together is just my favorite thing 🥹
To further lean into my undying interest in photographing dogs in shockingly beautiful places, tomorrow I am leaving for a trip for a couple weeks to Austria and Italy to visit the most amazing landscapes, made all the more glorious by photographing dogs there as well. I’m SO EXCITED!

Mozart and Ella are two really special pups who are both going through some hard times, although you wouldn’t know it by looking at their sweet smiles, and how they run around with such glee. Ella lost her sight due to glaucoma in October, and soon her eyes will need to be removed to make her more comfortable. It’s incredible how quickly she adapted to being blind, and at first I just wasn’t convinced she couldn’t see at least a little because of how she moved around, but after she ran into me a few times, I got the idea 😆 It’s amazing what her other senses do for her to let her know where she is, and her resilience and happy go lucky attitude is really impressive.
Soon after she lost her sight, Mozart was diagnosed with cancer and his back left leg was amputated a few months ago. It’s so impressive too the way he adapted immediately to life on three legs, and the two of them just left me in in awe and wonder. I know that’s how Jenevieve and John feel about them too, and it was such a lovely evening getting to celebrate their loves with them 🥹

Oh hey, remember me? 😅 I haven’t posted in almost a month and not because I haven’t been doing photo sessions (I have so so many lovely photos to share soon!) but I have recently bought my first home, and wow, has there been so much to do with all of that! What a completely consuming process, omg. I’m just moving across town, but packing up the house I’ve lived in for 17 years and getting the new one ready especially has been taking up so much time! We are putting in new floors, building walls for my new office, and spending a lot of time thinking about how Louie will adore his new fully fenced yard (which we have never had before!) and which windows he will love looking out the most.
We aren’t moving in officially until the middle of June though, so the kids can finish out their school year here. I also have a very big adventure coming up to complete right before moving, and I CANNOT WAIT! In a month I’ll be heading to Europe with for an incredible workshop with .geier.fotografie in Austria, and then followed with a couple of photo sessions in the Dolomites in Italy. Swoon! I cannot even deal with how excited I am about this trip and then moving into my new house when I get back, aghh!!!
By the way, Allison and I are still looking for a dog model for one of our Dolomites shoots, so if you live near there, or know someone with an incredible dog who does, please reach out for more info as we are accepting applications.
These photos are from my last grand adventure to Hawaii in late January (did I mention I’m quite behind on posting photos?!😬) and it was such an incredible morning! This is Taylor () with her amazing dogs Kenai, Koda, Nalu, and Carina. I loved every moment with these gems.

I figured there was no better time to come out of my instagram hiatus than to bring a puppy post back with me for National Puppy Day! This absolute gem is Raleigh, and obviously I was immediately head over heels for him 🤩 He was SO lucky to be brought into an incredible family of labs with big brothers Wilson and Hightop showing him the ropes. You simply must scroll to see the last photo- while we waited for the bright sun to relax a little bit, these three brothers did just that too, and it’s the best moment ever! Too adorable, can’t deal 🤯

Photographing the ones who usually are behind the lens always feels extra special 💯✨ It was so much fun to chase the light (and Cedar!) with 🫶
By the way, I had a spot on my calendar open up for this Friday and it will be a perfect day at the coast- send me a message if you want to take it 🙌
