First of all, thank you so so much to all to those who came to the restaurant the last few weeks ❤️ We are grateful to your incredible patience - like waiting in the cold for hours - and for all the love and support.

As we close this chapter, we would like to invite our friends, regular customers and Division/Clinton St community to a thank you party 🎊

We know this is very last minute, but we would love to gather once more to properly say thank you 🙇🙏 Tomorrow from 2pm we’ll be hosting this gathering as our final opportunity to express our gratitude and share a farewell with the community that has supported us for so many years.

Thank you again for everything, and we hope to see you tomorrow.

Takeo Kashiwagi and his family are closing a staple for sushi and bento lovers in southeast Portland at the end of December, after spending nearly 20 years of serving the community.

Kashiwagi, the second restaurant iteration of Sushi Takahashi 2, which was in downtown Portland, will close on Dec. 31, after the restaurant owner’s posted about the year-end closure to social media and updated their website.

“Domo arigato,” a statement reads. “Thank you so much to everyone in our sushi-loving community for being part of our journey. We hope our paths will cross again somewhere in the city.”
