Go Thorns! 🌹⚽️

In honor of the Portland Thorns FC home opener tonight, I'm so excited to share a sweet project I got to design for them last summer!

After games, it is Thorns tradition for the supporters to award goal scorers with a single red rose. The team wanted to do something special for three athletes who recently scored their first professional goals. I was asked to preserve these roses and create a memento to celebrate this career milestone.

We landed on one of my favorite designs that was a direct inspiration from the Thorns logo. A single pressed rose in the center surrounded by a wreath of rose leaves. Scroll to the last slide for a rough sketch!

I loved designing these art pieces and I hope they bring joy to the three amazing players!

We will start by customizing your own mini 4"x4" pocket flower press! Choose from various stamps to make it uniquely yours. Then, we’ll learn how to press flowers by filling up your new flower press with local blooms!

In the second half of the workshop, we’ll design stunning artwork using pre-pressed flowers. Use one of our provided templates or create your own design from a vast selection of pressed blooms.

Walk away with a finished art piece and your own custom press for future creations!

One of my favorite things about white bouquets is how they deepen in color to an antique ivory and butter yellow during the preservation process. This allows for a sublet contrast on our white handmade paper. We also offer olive green and navy blue as alternative handmade paper options.
