Great news! This past Saturday the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife voted unanimously 9-0 to mirror their Oregon counterparts and adopted a plan to phase out Gillnets on the Columbia River.

Gillnets to be prohibited on Columbia River - The Spokesman-Review SEATTLE — The state Fish and Wildlife Commission has voted to phase out gillnet fishing on the main stem of the Columbia River, relegating the primary commercial fishing tool to tributaries and bays.
