Lara Rose and Calder Gillin will join Seattle Parks & Recreation on a tour titled Victor Steinbrueck Park - Exploring History, Culture and City-Building at Steinbrueck Park. Victor Steinbrueck Park is a beloved park in historic Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle, designed by Richard Haag and Victor Steinbrueck and opened in 1982. Its recent renovation retains the park’s original layout and character while addressing contemporary needs for universal design and interconnected public spaces. Thoughtful integration of Indigenous voices exemplifies landscape architecture’s capacity to connect and inspire.

Lara Rose and Nathan Metzger will lead a tour titled Elliott Bay Connections - Ecological Transformation on the Waterfront. The Elliott Bay Connections project is part of a decades-long effort to reconnect the city of Seattle to the Elliott Bay Waterfront. The project will provide 16 acres of enhanced shoreline park, restored beach coves, new opportunities to play, and a new protected greenway for people walking, biking, and rolling. This tour is an opportunity to see a significant project in the early stages of construction. This tour will explore the ways the project will bring ecological benefit to a complex urban setting.
